Dear NEC list,
I remember there were two types of
rectifiers before silicon and germanium
semiconductor diodes came along. These
were "selenium" and "copper oxide". It seems
likely that antennas made of copper, which have
butt mechanical joints relying on contact,
will make rectifying junctions and cause all
kinds of intermodulation problems.
regards
David J.
