The Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has a position available for a
numerical modeler. The position requires an undergraduate or masters degree
in EE with a strong background in Electromagnetics and numerical modeling.
Specific experience with MATLAB, MoM, UTD/GTD, FEM, and FDTD required.
Duties involve building, testing and running a variety of numerical modeling
packages including NEC, NEC-BSC, WIPL-D, and XFDTD to model direction
finding (DF) antenna arrays. Included are the design and development of
antennas and arrays for DF systems.
We also have a position available for a Senior Research Engineer (Antenna
Design). Design, develop, analyze, test and document antennas and antenna
subsystems for radiolocation, communications, radio direction finding and
signal processing systems for commercial and government applications; work
as a member of a project team and as a phase manager on larger projects;
perform antenna design and systems engineering; assist in project planning
and control; assist in program and technological development; prepare
engineering test plans, testing procedures and reports; prepare proposal and
promotional documentation; interface with engineering and technical
personnel; provide clear and concise presentations to sponsors and
engineering peers. Requires a MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or
equivalent with a concentration in antennas, 3-5 years experience and a
minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0 preferred. Must have knowledge in antenna theory,
design and testing; good verbal and written communications skills required.
