NEC-LIST: How to put source, load, and transmission line in series?

I want to drive a transmission line with a voltage source, but
put a load in series with the source. If I construct a short
floating segment and put the source and transmission line on
it, I can drive the transmission line directly from the source
with no series load. Now, if I make a small loop from four
segments and put the transmission line on one segment, the
load on another segment, and the source on another segment,
I don't get the right result. Is this supposed to work?
Any other workarounds? (I am using EZNEC).
