Good day Zvi,

Don't confuse the direction of maximum radiation with the near field
properties. Offhand, I expect the strongest near fields are near the helix
wire, regardless of its size.

Gain Helix would give a higher field close to the end of the helix than
short Helix . I presumed that the helix concentrates the energy in the Z
direction . however my calculations seem to show that the field is
