NEC-LIST: Helix calculations

Hallo All,
             I am trying with NEC to make some calculations on the near
field properties of an Axial mode Helix. I would expect that a long high
Gain Helix would give a higher field close to the end of the helix than
short Helix . I presumed that the helix concentrates the energy in the Z
direction . however my calculations seem to show that the field is
weaker. Is something wrong with my calculations or with my theory??
    Any helpful advice is welcome???
