Subject: NEC-LIST: Coil-loading.

Hi James,

  I published a design using coils with a measured Q of 720
in the November 1998 QEX "A Narrow Bandwidth 40 Meter Bandpass
Filter." I measured the coils with a Q meter and then proceeded
to build a 29 kHz wide filter with a center frequency of 7035 MHz.

I used software by Brian Beezley K6STI to design the coil, but
he is out of business. It is quite likely that his DOS software
has not been upgraded to the Windows environment, so it is of
limited commercial value.

However, you could write new software based on the
equations presented in QST. His software merely analyzed
coils--it had no optimization routines.
