Hi Zvi,
The broadband dipole Ian mentioned is more widely known as an "open
sleeve dipole". It's a form of multi-resonator antenna that can have
wide bandwidth. In the latest edition of the ARRL Antenna Book there
is a example of an 80 dipole which is a folded dipole with an a
coupled element which gives 1 MHz of bandwidth on 80 m. Many other
combinations are possible. One word of caution, when modeling any of
these antennas with NEC be very careful to align the segments since
the antenna has multiple closely spaced wires. When modeling batwing
and other multi-wire dipoles you also have to treat the source regions
very carefully. L.B. Cebik's guidelines for these situations are very
good. See his web site.
Good luck,
Rudy N6LF
