For winXP I highly reccommend grabbing the 4nec2 package (available at the
same unofficial NEC archive)
ftp://ftp.qsl.net/pub/wb6tpu/NEC/4nec2X535.zip
It has a GUI interface, displays antenna geometries, plots 2d and 3d
radiation patterns, and comes with a whole bunch of sample models you
can start experimenting with.

I downloaded nec2dx1500 from the unofficial archives, and when I open the exe file I get a message (dos) to enter the name of the input file. After entering "nec2.in" I get the same request to enter the name of the input file again. Cannot proceed any further. I guess I don't know how and where to create the input and output files. Can someone help me get started? Thanks very much!
