The backstay is usually insulated top and bottom. It is very difficult to
insulate the
mast, and in addition salt-water covered sails may affect a mast antenna.
Unless one expected some performance improvement it would be hard
to justify the additional complexity involved with doing anything else besides
the insulated backstay.
