That's the problem. My newest Mac is a PPC G4. In it, I run the
NEC-4 executable that I compiled/linked/built in 2003 April, for a
G3. I used Absoft's FORTRAN 77 development kit for that. This
executable runs flawlessly under Classic (Mac OS 9.2 emulation),
under Mac OS X v10.4.11, in my G4. I don't know whether it would
work any better if I recompiled/relinked/rebuilt it for a G4.

I have the sources that I modified and compiled as mentioned above.
I also have a recent distribution of NEC-4; however, this
distribution includes no Mac OS X executable, and I have not bothered
to make one because (1) my old one works and (2) I hope to buy an
Intel Mac in a year or two.
