Mr. Smith and all;
About compiling NEC4 using the g77 compiler, in response to your
question:
"Where did you get the necessary libraries and if you did not use them,
how did you get around the USE MSFLIB, USE DFPORT & USE DFLIB
statements as they appear at the beginning of the source code."
I think the key may be the MSFLIB - this seems to be calling a Microsoft
library for Fortran. I only work with Unix-like systems, Mac OSX or
Linux and I used the Unix distro from the latest LLNL CD that I received
about May, I think. On searching that source with Xcode, the Mac
development system, I find no reference to MSFLIB.
I have no experience with compiling NEC-4 for Windows use, although my
experience with trying to use Windows-compiled NEC-4 met with OS-imposed
limits.
Since the Windows and Unix code are on the same CD, maybe you got the
wrong one.
An aside - that compile I mentioned ran OK on the old, slow 32-bit Mac,
but truly howled on a 64-bit, 4.5GB RAM, PowerMac G5quad!
best wishes all,
darryl
