NEC-LIST: Compiling NEC for a Large Number of Segments

Dear All,

I have recently tried to compile NEC4 to use more than 2GB RAM (i.e. >12000
segs for double precision or >16000 for single) on a 32 bit PC with 4GB
installed, using Compaq Visual Fortran 6.1A but hit the 2^31 record length
problem with the following error message: "A common block or variable may
not exceed 2147483647 bytes". I thought CVF and Intel Fortran had a way
around this, but cannot find out anything about it. Does the code need
modifying or do I need a later version of the compiler?

Regards,

Paul Carlier
