NEC-LIST: EX 5 and LD 4

Good day,

I have been experimenting over the last few months with the
EX 5 source in NEC 2. I have just found a problem when an
segment is loaded. When I use the EX 5 source and the
reactance it reports to either tune or match the input, it
doesn't work. Applying an EX 0 to the same input, and using
the reactance it reports will tune the input for either
source. The APG with the EX 5 is still good. If I then add
resistance to make a conjugate match, with an otherwise
lossless structure in free space, the APG and efficiency are
very different, and the input resistance doesn't make sense
with either. Is this problem related to the fact that the
EX 5 source is a basis function, and the way point loads are
handled?

Regards,
Doug Miron
