    If you CAREFULLY read the data in my posting, you will see that your
comments are
irrelevant. First, the wire on the coil is coated with 20-30 mils of Teflon,
and most of the inter-turn electric field is located within the Teflon. Even
then, it is a relatively small field which causes very little loss in anything
other than extremely lossy materials - if there were any!

Second, where the PVC is located there is very little electric field, so its
loss factor (about .010) is of no concern. There is no electric field loss
within the PVC, and its magnetic loss factor (imaginary part of mu) are
negligible. That is why it has very little effect on the Q, which would be another
manifestation of dielectric losses. Do you really think you can build a coil with
a Q of 200-300 which has significant losses in its own fields?
