Jack,
I think that in my copy of your article you make the point
about the feeedthrough capacitance and point out that
base-tuning should be done on the antenna side of the mount.
This would present a small load resistance likewise, and the
matching can be done on the cable side of the mount. So, if
done right, either center-loading or base-tuning will
minimize the voltage across the feedthrough capacitance.
