I don't want to take too much bandwidth (sorry) about
this on the NEC list and will continue off-line.
I will say that I agree, from a practical
perspective, most engineers are concerned with
bandwidth.
The value of Q is that there is no ambiguity
in its definition or in how its determined.
This is not always true of bandwidth as it can
be defined in so many ways. Additionally, the
inverse of Q does give a very accurate indication
of an antenna's bandwidth properties.
