Thanks all for the info concerning my question.

Somehow I was completely mislead, caused by
the unclear picture.

As I now understand one can specify one or more
direction angles from which the plane-wave should
come from (excuses for the bad english). Then one
could create a pattern by observing the current in
a particular segment. This way is would be possible
to create a kind of receiving pattern.
