Actually, there is no need for that, make something like bunch of radials,
and it is supposed to work fine. In real world exact replica of this
skeleton solution is frequently used in VHF band.

Well, that's a marketing kinda language. I found it in advertisements for
connectors, where they wish to emphasize that their connectors are fitted
in a snap. In real world, it is always good to have WD40 or tuner spray (or
few rugged-handed technicians) at hand to make them snap easier. And be
careful, or otherwise they may snap in a place you didn't want them to.
