Good day Tim,

I have not run a far-field pattern with 4nec2 yet, but, if I understand your
question correctly, you would have the same result in any system. The
far-field calculation assumes that the observation point is far from the
coordinate oriigin compared tothe size of your structure. Even if the
structure is displaced a finite amount from the origin, this is assumed to
be small compared to the distance to the observation point. This is the
idea for the parallel-ray approximation which you can read about in almost
any antenna text. So, from the observation point, your structure is always
at the origin.
