Good day,
A few months ago there was some interest on this list in rectangular
transmission lines. In March, I taught the 4-point averaging method for
finding potential distribution inside a rectangular trough. I thought it
would be interesting to give the class the rectangular transmission line with
rectangular center conductor as a part of their take-home final exam. I have
revised one of their programs to take advantage of symmetry. It is in MATLAB,
and I will send it to anyone interested.
The program finds the potential distribution, the max E and its location, C
pF/m, and Zc, assuming air dielectric.
