NEC-LIST:Help with NEC2D and all its variants running on Windows XP

Hi,

This is probably a question that has
been raised before.

I am running Windows XP on my new laptop
and despite the DOS command prompt having
various compatibility modes with Windows 95,
Windows 98 and Windows 2000 I am not sure
how I should set up the compatibility modes
(or if indeed I can) so NEC2D and variants
compiled with the Lahey Fortran compiler
will run! I get stack overflow at some funny
address when I attempt to run the executables.
Can anyone help please?

Alternatively does anyone have executables
that will work on Windows XP? Would they be
prepared to place them in the unofficial NEC
archives if they do?

I do not have a Fortran compiler. I can compile
C and C++ and may have to work through the .C
source which is on the archives. If I have to
do this and I get the various sized NEC2D
variants going I will archive them for others
to use. I was hoping for a more expedient
solution however. Protected mode programs
compiled by Non Microsoft compilers have always
been a compatibility issue under Windows and
Windows is a moving target.

It is of note that the old NEC81.EXE still
seems to run on Windows XP, well it doesn't
get the stack fault when it starts at least.
