Working on matching a short dipole operating at 7.15 MHz to a 50 ohm source.
I have a smith chart program that is supposes to help calculate matching
sections and NEC. First, I entered the ant. into NEC with no loads and got
the input Z, 13.5-j175. Entered that into the smith chart program and
calculated a shunt L, series L that would produce a match. Came up with 8uH
shunt and 7.5uH series. Entered these into NEC and got 102.5 -J185. Worked
with the loads in NEC until I got a match there, 11uH shunt and 6.7uH
series. Using these numbers in the smith chart program and got 32.3+J31.4.
What could I be doing wrong? NEC file that produces a match listed below.
Thanks.
