The CFA List announcement has generated quite a strong response, for a
variety of non-technical reasons. (Those who follow the
rec.radio.amateur newsgroups will detect a familiar pattern.)

Since this is rapidly moving off-topic, I suggest that further
discussion be taken off-line.
