The radio amateurs that are involved in "moonbounce" or EME
communications have been active in developing long Yagi designs that
are a good compromise between gain, sidelobes, bandwidth and feedpoint
impedance.
Try Guenter's website at
http://www.scn.de/~koellner/antennas/bv70_1.htm for some work that was
based on Dl6WU's long yagis with logarithmic spacing.
As well, the more recent releases of the ARRL Handbook have some
designs by K1FO that are quite good (fo22) also using logarithmic
spacing.
Also, there is a good DUBUS archive site that may have some antenna
info at ftp://dpmc.unige.ch/pub/dubus/
