NEC-LIST: LAPACK LU (was Re: NEC-LIST: Xeon vs Pentium II - 450)

Dear All,

I've had a quick play at using LAPACK with both the reference BLAS
libraries and the optimised "Intel" ASCI Red BLAS libraries to do the
LU decomposition in NEC2. The benchmarks were run on a 400MHz Pentium
II under linux. The results are in the PDF file available at
