SUPERNEC BETA RELEASE
=====================
***BETA RELEASE AT 50% DISCOUNT TO NORMAL PRICES***
A Beta version of the SuperNEC program is now available.
The program was developed over the past 10 years under
leadership of Drs Derek Nitch and Andre Fourie. They have
recently formed a company, Poynting Software, to distribute
this program.
Overview
--------
- Redesigned NEC2 using Object Oriented Design and
implemented in C++
- Implemented parallel execution on inhomogeneous network
of computers linked by TCP/IP
- Added GTD/UTD hybrid
- Matlab based input interface
- Matlab based output interface
MoM/UTD hybrid engine features:
------------------------------
- MoM theory based on NEC2 basis/testing functions
- All NEC2 features available
- UTD hybrid on level of impedance matrix interactions added
eg: Dipole impedance changes when approaching GTD cylinder.
- Faster execution than FORTRAN implementation (on pure MoM)
- No dimension limits on anything (except by physical memory)
due to dynamic data structures.
- Parallel execution option (90% efficient on large problems)
eg 22 node IBM SP2 machine, Sun/RS600/PC-NT mix of computers
linked by Ethernet.
- UTD objects include elliptical cylinders and flat plate
polygons. (Up to triple diffraction/reflection components)
Input interface features.
-------------------------
- Matlab based, hence extendable and possible to modify
by the user.
- 3D structure viewer/editor (Move, copy, delete, reflect
rotate)
- Use of assemblies to aid in model construction. Assemblies
are higher level structures implemented using matlab language
interpreted programs which users can used/add to/modify.
- Model checking according to Trueman and Kubina's rules with
user defined limits.
- Full control interface (freq, gnd, exitation, output requests)
- Currently provided assemblies include:
*Antennas: yagi, LPDA, loop, folded dipole, wire conical, helix
*Gridded Structures: Plates, cylinders, semi-cylinders, cone,
sphere, rectangular pipe and elliptical plates.
*Special: Extrusion (user defined profile is extruded and gridded -
allows definition of corner reflectors and other exotic shapes)
*NEC file: Reads standard NEC2 or SuperNEC file and treats it as
a unit.
- Add new assemblies using Matlab's easy to use language.
- Assemblies may consist of other assemblies.
Output interface
----------------
- All of the following are implemented using matlab m-files
which may be user modified and extended.
- 2D/3D polar and rectangular radiation patterns with structure
overlay
- Parameters versus frequency (impedance, VSWR, gain, F/B ratio
return loss, efficiency, coupling etc)
- Current distributions (colour mapped on structures)
- Near fields (contour/colour etc)
- Network Analyser style markers with legends
- Smith charts, log scales and polar formats.
- Supports old NEC2 output file formats
Miscellaneous
-------------
- 4 manuals (600 pages)
- supplied on CD
- Windows 95, NT, UNIX compatible (Beta version only Win95/ WinNT)
- Need Matlab 5.2 to run interface
Availability
-------------
An annual subscription at 50% of initial price will insure technical
support, updates, fixes and enhancements. Upon terminating subscrition
the current version may be used indefinitely.
The table is in three collumns with the description in the first
collumn, PC based price in the second, and UNIX based in the third. It
might not be aligned correctly in you email.
