NEC4D is telling me that I have less attenuation in 1 mS/m earth than
in 5 mS/m earth for the following model:
CM halfwave 1 kw transmitting dipole 1 km above ground
CE fields under ground
GW 1 19 -5 0 1000 5 0 1000 .001
GE
GN 2 0 0 0 13 .001 0 0 0 0
EX 0 1 10 0 404 0
FR 0 1 0 0 14.25 1
NE 0 1 1 11 0 0 5 0 0 -1
XQ
EN
The numbers presented by NEC4D show about 2.2 dB per meter of
attenuation from the surface to a point 5 meters below when ground
conductivity is 5 mS/m. When I specify 1 mS/m earth, I am seeing
about 0.4 dB/m attenuation.
Can't be right!
Can somebody replicate these results?
