A client is interested in modeling fields from an antenna in contact
with a stratified medium (i.e., a body), and scattering from various
embedded objects. An excellent article (Cynthia M. Furse, "Application
of the Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method to Bioelectromagnetic
Simulations", ACES Newsletter, March 1997) indicates that the FDTD
method would be a good choice for this purpose. My questions are:
What FDTD codes are available and how can they be obtained?
Is FDTD the best choice for this purpose?
Can currently-available FDTD codes model 3D scattering?
Are there other suitable codes?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
