New EZNEC PRO Antenna Modeling Software:
EZNEC/4 NEC-4 Interface/Analysis Program *NEW*
EZNEC-M NEC-2 Based Analysis Program v. 2.0
EZNEC/4 is a powerful new interface which seamlessly integrates your NEC-4
program into an easy-to-use analysis tool. (EZNEC/4 does not include NEC-4
or a license to use NEC-4. NEC-4 must be purchased separately from its
copyright owner. EZCALC4, a specially compiled version of NEC-4, is
furnished at no charge only to users who have been confirmed as registered
NEC-4 licensees.) The antenna description is entered using the popular
EZNEC interface method of spreadsheet-like entry and powerful editing
tools, or EZNEC/4 can directly read your NEC description file. The
calculating engine is automatically called when needed and the results
displayed. No exiting, file converting or editing, or other operations are
required. The selection of calculating engine -- EZCALC4 NEC-4, user-
supplied NEC-4, or internal NEC-2 -- is easily and quickly made from within
EZNEC/4. The full, easy-to-use EZNEC PRO interface and simple, fully
integrated operation are always available regardless of calculating engine
selection. This first release of EZNEC/4 is numbered version 2.0 because of
its similarity to EZNEC-M version 2.0.
EZNEC-M is identical to EZNEC/4 except that only one calculating engine is
available, its internal NEC-2 engine. This new release of EZNEC-M, version
2.0, includes several new features not available in version 1.
A few of the many EZNEC PRO features . . .
- Spreadsheet-style entry of all description parameters. Fast, easy
description modification.
- Graphical antenna pattern plots. Multiple plots can be
superimposed.
- Three-dimensional, positionable view of the antenna, with currents
and other important information.
- Automatic guideline check to alert you to accuracy-degrading
conditions.
- Many advanced editing features to speed and simplify creating and
modifying models, including automated radial wire and rectangular
wire grid creation, and direct real-time entry of NEC GM, GR, GS,
and GX "cards".
- Near field and ground wave analysis.
- True current sources, transmission lines, and open- and short-
circuited stubs.
- Frequency "sweep" from external list of arbitrarily spaced
frequencies.
- Comma-delimited data output (optional) for easy importation to
other programs.
- Description merging and ASCII file wire importing features.
- Intelligent determination of memory use. Allocatable arrays cause
use of disk as virtual RAM only if all available memory has been
used. (This feature not available with user-supplied NEC-4
program.)
- Comprehensive, indexed, printed manual.
- Fully compatible with EZNEC and EZNEC files.
- Can analyze antennas with more than 3000 segments and 1000 wires.
- Ability to directly read and translate NEC input files. The
following "card" types are read: CE, CM, EK, EN, EX, FR, GD, GN,
GE, GM, GR, GS, GW, GX, LD, NE, NH, NX, RP, TL, XQ.
- Ability to write files in NEC format.
- Saves plots in standard OpenPF format for compatibility with TA and
other programs.
(Please note: EZNEC PRO does not implement some NEC features such
as patches, wire arcs, symmetry, helices, catenary wires, and
insulated wires.)
EZNEC PRO and NEC
Although EZNEC PRO incorporates NEC-2 or NEC-4 as its calculating engine,
it operates as a single, integrated program rather than as a "pre-" or
"post-processor" for NEC. Except for user-supplied NEC-4 programs, the
included NEC code isn't accessible. No NEC-format input or output files are
generated during operation with the NEC-2 calculating engine. Although
communication with NEC-4 is largely by means of NEC-format files, these are
not generally available except after exiting EZNEC PRO. EZNEC PRO uses its
own easy-to-use antenna description file system which has been proven by a
large number of EZNEC and EZNEC-M users, although it is able to both read
(to a limited extent) and write NEC-format files. EZNEC PRO does
incorporate SOMNEC for a complete Norton-Sommerfeld ground solution. Some
NEC capabilities aren't presently included in EZNEC PRO, including patches,
wire arcs, symmetry, helices, catenary wires, and insulated wires. No
source code is included or available.
Hardware Requirements
EZNEC PRO requires a PC-compatible computer with 80386, 80486, or Pentium
processor with coprocessor; 3 MB available extended RAM; and EGA, VGA, or
SVGA graphics. HP DeskJet, Color DeskJet, LaserJet and compatible printers,
and Epson-compatible dot matrix printers, are supported. EZNEC PRO is a DOS
application and will run under DOS, Windows 3.xx, Windows 95, or Windows
NT. No compiler is required. EZNEC PRO uses a hardware key which is
connected to a parallel port but does not interfere with other port
operations.
Trial Period
If you are not completely satisfied with EZNEC PRO, you can return it
within 90 days for a full refund.
Prices (U.S. funds)
All prices include shipping to the U.S. and Canada by first class mail. Add
$10.00 for air mail delivery to other countries. (Note: An upgrade does not
confer a second license. It upgrades a single license from the existing
program to the new program.)
EZNEC/4 NEC-4 Interface/Analysis Program
New program $600
Upgrade from EZNEC-M version 1 $450
Upgrade from EZNEC $550
(Important note: EZNEC/4 does not include NEC-4 or a license to use NEC-4.
NEC-4 is the property of the University of California and must be ordered
from them. A specially compiled version of NEC-4 will be provided only to
EZNEC/4 customers who have been confirmed as being NEC-4 license holders.)
