The MSWORD6 format for the NEC manual is sufficient, and for
many uses, superior to a scanned or .pdf format because it
takes less memory, and one can edit it to make up his or her
own customized manual more easily. NEC2_092.DOC is 725K
bytes long 223K zipped. One can use the "find" utility in
MSWORD6 which has helped me substantially since the
organization of the material is not always the way my
thinking is organized (disorganized??). There are probably
more platforms out there capable of printing MSWORD
documents than '.pdf' ones. Also, one can get a lot of
information out of looking at the '.doc' format not with
msword but with the 'write.exe' editor which is
automatically supplied with windows. I got my copy of
nec2_092.doc from ftp.traveller.com /pub/users/richesop or
ftp.dec.tis.net /pub/users/richesop. I did find
differences, however, in the DTIC version of the manual and
this document. If anyone scans anything, they should first
look at both AD-A-075289 and AD-A-075460 (Numerical
Electromagnetic Code); I think the user's manual is part III
in AD-A-075460. The information contained there was slightly
more complete and more up to date.
