I was recently contacted for some consulting work which I don't have the time or
tools to take on. Perhaps one of the readers of the list would be interested.
It involves the calculation of the shape of the near field from a small coil.
The coil is a little over a meter in diameter and is being excited at 19 kHz.
There is a considerable amount of steel in its immediate vicinity. The
application is the sensing of metal (e.g., nails, bolts) in logs in sawmills.
