In reply to a note from Larry Gray, I can make the following comments:

I am using an `old' version of NEC tailored to run on a IBM SP2 machine, where
the matrix routines are indeed replaced with tailored facorisation and
solution algorithms. In single precision we can go up to 6500 unknowns, and ver
y promising results have been obtained for example for the UHF circular array
on the second generation meteosat satellite.Measured and computed results comp
are very well.

In the future we would like to take the code we have and run it on our CRAY
J90, where we should have the possibillity to go up to 10.000 segments.

Now we are on the subject, does anybody have any info on a parallel
implementation of NEC?The SP2 machine we have here has 16 nodes, of which 8 ca
n be used in a parallel configuration. At the moment I am using a node as
stand-alone system, because of the fact that I don't have any dedicated,
parallel matrix factorisation and solution algorithms.

Any info is appreciated.

Regards,

Gerry.
