For Hybrid Code (MoM/GTD) there is a good canonical model published by
  Davidson & Thiele in IEEE-T-EMC, May 1984, pp. 90-97.

Davidson and Thiele give results for coupling between two monopoles on
a perfectly conducting cylinder at 1 GHz.

  This should serve a benchmark.
